recently, I've noticed that my 2009 MacBook draws a lot of battery power when it's in standby mode (sleeping with the lid open). I know that they are supposed to sleep for a long time, but when I leave the lid open and it falls asleep, the computer draws battery power even faster than if the computer was being used. Does anyone know what may cause this rapid battery drain?
Thanks

I'm wondering what kinds of estimates Apple is giving people for the SSD+HDD iMacs--if they are all the same or differ based on what you ordered/when you placed the order.
I ordered the high-end 27" with the upgrades to i7, 2GB VRAM, and the 256 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD. My order was placed yesterday morning at 6:10 PDT.
I'm being told estimated shipping date is June 15 with delivery on June 17 (I chose 2-day shipping).
Anyone else?

Upon reading various google searches, it appears some users hack in firmware into their ipods, couldn't one simply take the older firmware of the 5/5.5g video and place it into the 6g classic?
No, the 6G has an encrypted firmware and has a very different internal setup the the 5/.5G iPod.

Have a 3G iPhone. The battery wasn't holding a charge, so I decided to try another phone on AT&T - not really happy with it so want to go back to iPhone. I took to a mac repair store and they changed out the battery. The battery works great and it connects to my home network (which is working), but I can't seem to get it to run off wifi. No service plus wifi doesn't seem to work. Still have the SIM card. Have tried resetting phone, network, network settings, running in airplane mode, etc - nothing seems to work. It seems to get a full signal on the network, but it won't actually pull in data (load pages, etc.). I want to make sure the wifi is working properly before I go through the trouble of having AT&T reactivate the phone.
Any suggestions?

hi,
I want to print on a uni printer and need to know the print margins for an A2 semi-gloss sheet but the print technician is part time and doesn't know. I want to do borderless as much as possible and work in indesign so I obviously I want to set the guides up.
Would anyone be able to say what margins I could use up to for my presentation?
I won't be able to scale it to fit print margins as I'm printing stuff to scale.
Not sure what to do. -help?
Printer -
Epson Stylus Pro 4880 A2
Cheers,
Luke.

There appears to be approx 20 people in line right now.... I am gonna wait this out and come back after my con call...
The roads are fine, and likely not a deterrent... I have a slightly elevated level of concern about getting one today, but will have to let that go....

I plan on running Windows via VMWare or Parallels on my MBP and I heard that Windows 7 requires more CPU to virtualize, I am just wondering if it's true, and if so, is it significant?
I will be running the virtualization probably constantly so I want to avoid anything that might slow down OSX. I hear 7 is the best choice for Boot Camp though, so I'm torn.
Any insight would be appreciated :)

I need to run SPSS (statistical software) on my mac for school. I have played around with the SPSS version on mac computers at the library and it is very buggy. I am thinking of getting either vmfusion or parallels to run Windows 7 and then getting SPSS PC versions that are much more proficient and effective. I purchased my Macbook Pro a couple weeks ago, but have not upgraded the ram from 4 to 8 gb yet. Can anyone provide me some opinions as to whether vmfusion or parallels works better, of it's personal preference? I know that either will work, so the most important information I need, is how much ram I should allocate to make sure that it runs smoothly? Should I wait till I am able to bump up to 8gbs before doing all this or what are your thoughts?
Thanks for helping out!

I'm surprised Apple hasn't said anything about the problem yet. Will it just go away if they ignore it? Does it not affect enough people bad enough?

Earlier today, a MacRumors reader notified us that the white iPhone 4 is ever so slightly larger than the black iPhone 4. It's a small difference, but enough that the white iPhone 4 wouldn't fit in his Incase slider case:<p class="quote">Just picked up the white iPhone 4 and realized it doesn't fit into my Incase slider case. It appears that Apple has increased the size of the plastic that borders the glass on both sides by about 1mm. </p><center>http://images.macrumors.com/article/2011/04/28/164154-tumblr_lkdqkyjHla1qa45ly.jpg

Ryan Cash (http://ryancash.net/post/5019047695/white-iphone-4-is-thicker) of Marketcircle (http://www.marketcircle.com/) noticed the same and noticed it just by picking it up.<p class="quote">A colleague of mine just picked up a 16 GB iPhone 4 in white. I was a bit surprised when I picked it up off his desk (I had my black 32 GB in my other hand at the same time) it immediately felt thicker.</p>Cash offers some comparison photos (http://ryancash.net/post/5019047695/white-iphone-4-is-thicker) between the white and black iPhone 4 showing the slight difference. The small different may be enough to affect tight fitting slider cases as evidenced by our reader's experience.
