Though of course, like most people on this forum, I regard InDesign (or any Adobe product) a vastly superior tool to MS Word when it comes to laying out a page, I do know that there are several good reasons for producing a CV in Word.
I do a bit in recruitment and we use a CV parser to extract raw text from CVs, which then gets saved into a database. While our system will handle PDF without a great deal of issue, it much prefers Word and will extract more reliably.
Most agencies will use a similar system and I would wager if you asked them what file format they would prefer you presented your CV in, most would say Word. After all, the purpose of a CV is to get you some work, right? So make it as easy for them as possible.
In my view CVs should be relatively simple. If you want to show off your design skills, do it in your portfolio. I often see the odd CV which has been 'over designed' and I kind of mentally roll my eyes and think, 'just give me the info I need'. Word is capable of nicely formatting a CV. Not with the typesetting finesse of InDesign perhaps, but well enough.
Anyway, doesn't answer this question. How about creating a similar file without your personal information but using the same fonts, etc., converting it to PDF using the same method and then posting it up on here for people to have a play with. We may find out what the issue is.

I have the same issue. New 2010 Mac Mini.
When it wakes up from sleep the cursor is missing.
I I hit Apple/Tab key a few times it comes back.
It's pretty dependable. This happens about 90% of my wake ups.

Today I received a mail from Amazon promoting a book "Mac App Store Tools and Deployment: An Overview for Developers (http://www.amazon.com/Mac-App-Store-Tools-Deployment/dp/1449304699)", but after looking at additional information on Amazon I somehow think this must be April fools' edition or something like that. Only 40 pages at $29.99!? Is that a "license to print money" or maybe I'm missing something here?

iGary, listen to me you whinning, kid-less money bag.
I spend $100/month for 1 kids piano lessons.
$95/mo for 2 kids gymnastics
$60/mo for another kids dance classes
we just wrote over $100 in various checks to the elementary school for kids stuff.
You have none of that, no clothes for 3 kids, no meals for 3 kids, no birthday presents for 3 kids' friends.
Get the blessed thing NOW! Screw the 30in, it will be there only cheaper next month.
After you get it, you have to put some of my fav songs on it though.

Yes, you'll be able to sync all the same music, movies, apps, contacts/notes/calendar (from outlook).
Also, not trying to be patronising or anything, but 'download' means to acquire data from 'the internet'. What iTunes is doing is just transferring data between two local devices. ;)

Had chili and quinoa for dinner tonight in celebration. Vegetarian, of course. Unfortunately the quinoa was Peruvian but close enough.
I've had quinoa in a salad, but not with chili. Was the quinoa in the chili, or on the side? Either way, sounds good.
Back to the subject... It's good to see a mining crisis have a relatively good ending for once.

So far, the only "ipad" part of lion is the "launchpad" which has an alias to all your apps... you don't have to use this at all, you can still run your applications directly from the "applications" folder or using spot light, the dock or how ever else.

well the Nvidia does better in certain things while the 850 does better in others.
Also the 6800 allows for two 30" displays while no ATI allows that currently.
that being said i go for the ATI
Do you know anyone in the world that actually runs dual 30 inchers? I know i don't, sure it is possible but who is actually going too ;) (prove me wrong), that being said the ATi cards i have used have be top notch, you will be happy :)

Maybe we need a gender field on our profile.
Hmm.. I wonder how many people assume I'm a guy.

What are the chances Of that happening since they just basically refreshed it? Look how long it took them last time...
Are you saying Apple just refreshed the Mac Pro? They did not (http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#Mac_Pro). The Mac Pro will be updated this year.
The biggest surprise would be if it DIDN'T have a thunderbolt port.

I have an iPad. I downloaded a software from Apple App Store, only to find that it was for iPhone with the small screen.
I completed a form on line and submitted to Apple App Store for a refund but only to be told to contact the software company. I emailed the software company, who told me to contact Apple App Store for the refund. Im getting the runaround.
Anyone else has experienced this kind of runaround? Any suggestion as to how I can get a refund either from Apple App Store or the software company?

Wow, Australia has a download limit? Didn't know that. :D
Have you ever gone to the iTunes store and checked how big movie downloads are?
Its days like these that paying $80 for unlimited feels justified.

I don't think you can make a list but you can jus keep adding names when you make a new text. Just keep adding people from your contacts or typing in numbers.

WTF? It's free to access using Safari but costs 50.00 to use their app (which seems to be a glorified access to the same site with some .css/html mods to make it more accessible for iPhone)?

Screw that. I vote they move towards a naming system like with OSX. Instead of using big cats, they use fruit.
Next iteration of iPhone = iPhone Banana.
After that, iPhone Papaya.
I would support this idea, except everyone will think you're talking about a smoothie rather than a phone.

I haven't found anything I couldn't do in Lion, that I could in 10.6..
I like Lion on the whole too, but to say that there's nothing in 10.6 that you can't do in Lion is patently untrue. Just look at Spaces. In 10.6, you could move between spaces in a grid quickly and easily. In Lion, you can't do that and you can't change it back.
The fact is, there are some features that they did just remove. Most of which were done for the sake of making things "simpler" for new users, which is where I think a lot of people get the term "dumbing down".
