Different file systems use different minimum size file allocations.
I remember on some older systems the minimum was 8kb.

My 15" Titanium Powerbook can play DVDs ok, but when I insert a blank one to write onto, it spits it out after about 5 seconds.
Any advice?

Thinking about picking up a Mophie Juice Pack and was wondering if the supplied cable will work with a car stereo USB iPhone/iPod input? I see they say you can still sync with iTunes with the cable but does it also work in the car?

The 400mhz iMac has no fans. Technically the only moving part is the hard drive, and that could be making a buzzing sound, although its usually more of a high pitched whine. The only other part that would buzz is the CRT or power supply, and those are usually not repairable. Replacement parts are also expensive.
Damn, that sucks. Son's birthday present is locking up on OS9 also. I can move the mouse, but no keyboard commands work, and can't get to any of the menus.
Going to try to load Panther and see what happens.
I'll also be opening it up to make sure everything is secure and cleaned up.

It would be a much stronger meaning if you put the windows XP desktop on the iMac, rather than a solitaire....IMO.....

It doesn't display the Macintosh HD partition, but does show the drive as a whole. But I can't do any disk repairs or anything of the sort to it.

Open Activity Monitor to see if there's a process using a lot of your resources (RAM and CPU). :)

This evening, exactly the same thing happened to my iP90 iHome. It still charges the iPod, but otherwise appears dead.

Thank you. It's a real short track and all you have to do is click the link and play the video (preview). I guess I am going to try different things and see what kind of different sounds I can come up with.

there is a separate magsafe board connecting to the logic board. I have done repairs where battery/power issue was the magsafe board, and repairs where battery/power issues was a faulty logic board. 95% of the time it is the logic board. Unless you can find someone who can check each component (I would try the magsafe board first since it's much faster) you might be stuck with a desktop notebook.

I haven't noticed the issues with my iPad2 or my iPhone4 but there IS a lag on my husbands 3GS ever since he upgraded to the 4.3.1. We've tried restoring and it didn't solve it. He's sticking it out for a couple months and then upgrading.

I've had a few weird issues lately:
Logging into account--begins to log in, see desktop, menu bar and dock load, but then screen goes blue and logs me back out to login screen automatically. Have to login again. Also had a kernel panic when waking from sleep to login window. I had Winswitch and JewelCase installed (iTunes was in starup items), I removed them and that hasn't happened since.
On a recent login updating prebinding took 15 minutes
Some app quits (not many), but Quicktime and Preview take long time to open now out of nowhere...
While using Illustrator yesterday I noticed that my minimized windows and my Illustrator dock icon were to the right of the trash, I couldn't move them to the left. I tried relaunching the Finder several times, but no go...had to restart.
In Photoshop, if I click from a photoshop window to a finder window quickly the finder window disappears...
Now I have repared permissions, disk, run cron scripts, reset NVRAM and PRAM, run fsck, and run techtool pro and apple hardware test
None of these problems existed before I added a gig of RAM from Crucial, so do these sound like RAM issues, if so, then why do the hardware tests and techtool pro say RAM is ok? And if it is the RAM, then why are the problems not frequent?
Thanks.

Nice idea for a thread! I like this. Okay, here it goes...
The track starts out in familiar Biosphere or Tim Hecker style: an eerie ambient drone with slight static. Then a rhythm kicks in at 0:16 that reminds me of My Bloody Valentine, only with a clearly electronic synth layer on top of it. At 0:28 a girl starts singing in a sweetish voice. Then, at 0:37, a guitar layer is added that brings up memories of Interpol. The female singer, guitar and synth then start meandering from 0:56 until 1:22, when only the rhythm and a single accorded guitar are left. This is obviously the weakest part of the track. Thankfully, therefore, it only lasts 7 seconds. The guitar and synth restart their intertwined meandering, which contrasts nicely with the girl's voice that stays relatively flat. At 1:55 she joins the flow again. The part between 2:07 and 2:20 is the best part, after which the song once again falls flat, like it did at 0:56. The only difference being that the synth layer kicks in relatively soon. A tinkling bell is also added, which sadly has nothing substantial to add to the picture. At 2:50 the flow is picked up again, and at 3:01 background vocals kick in, a second background vocal layer is added at 3:17. The song has a pretty solid ending. No fade-out, but a nice climax. Nothing too exciting, but nice nonetheless.
I like the track, but there are a few weak parts. The center part between 1:27 and 2:20 and the part from 2:50 to the end are easily the best parts.
I give the track a 7,5 out of 10.
New track to rate: Lover Of Mine by Beach House (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zw5hkqTiAPI).

Thanks for all the links.
If anyone comes across this thread with the same problem, I ended up buying two different tri-wing screwdrivers (advertised as for the Wii and DS) off of eBay, they both looked identical with a red handle but only one actually fits the screws. If your desperate to get one all I can say is buy a few different ones (they're only like 1 each) and hope you get one that fits. This comes pretty close to answering it, but don't know why he got two that were advertised in the same way and one worked.
I know this one works:
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0273762
It's a 00 triwing for the DS and WII. It'll probably be in the games section on the tool display.
I think the DS and WII have the same size triwing screws so the set should work as well. So, it looks like finding one for a DS and Wii is the ticket. Only uncertainty here is a "00" tri-wing the same as a "0"? I believe that's a smaller size than a 0.
