Pics? Unless it's pristine, you won't find many willing to pay $595, my PowerBook was purchased for $650 and it's maxed. You're looking at more like $300.

I used DiskTracker (http://download.cnet.com/DiskTracker/3000-2130_4-5156.html?tag=mncol;1) a lot years ago and liked it but to be honest, those where back in the OS 8/9 days. It's still around now and regularly updated.
DiskCatalogMaker (http://download.cnet.com/DiskCatalogMaker/3000-2248_4-996.html?tag=mncol;4) has also been around for a long time and seems to have a good following along with regular updates.

Ok, so today I copied cds to my MBP itunes. In the past it popped up with the name and info of the album. Today I was unable to connect to the internet while adding the music so everything was added as "Unknown album". Now I have multiple unknown albums and I would like to fix this. I tried going to advanced --> get track names and got a message saying CDDB information is not available.
My questions are
Is there anyway to get the information added with out going in and manually typing everything myself?
Is there a setting that I missed that would allow for the tracks to be attached to the music? (I just got the computer about 2 months ago so a lot of the settings are still set on factory settings. This is my first apple so I'm still learning the ropes...)
I know that i tunes used to do it, on my last computer I had some albums that didn't have all of the information filled out and after letting itunes "talk" to the data base all of the information was filled in. I don't know if apple did away with this feature to encourage people to just buy music from them or what. All of the cds I copied today were originals not burned copies.
Any help is much appreciated.

Okay, I'm in over my head. Look like I need to first learn about frames. Mods, you can lock or delete this thread. Sorry about that. I thought I was close to finishing. Little did I know!!

Buying on Apple's site is just as safe as buying straight from a shop.
Safer, really, as you eliminate the risk of being hit by a bus, in a car accident, mugged, robbed, stabbed, shot, in a train derailment, etc...

I find MacRumors as a great place for help, and I ask on here before any other forums.

Hi everyone. After a long hiatus, I'm back at folding again. Hopefully I'll be climbing the ranks in the MR team here soon! So watch out! :P

Best to make sure you plug those ""line level" plugs into a "phono" input on your receiver, otherwise, you may end up with sound that will be tinny and have way too much treble.
This is due to the fact that the output from a phonograph cartridge has to have RIAA equalization applied before being amplified in your receiver/amp. Check your turntable's manual and see if the output to the (RCA stereo) cables is already equalized or not. Good luck going old school!:cool:

I like the new icon. Much prefer it to Firefox's.

If you're coming from another programming language like C++ you can kind of think of the (+) functions as static member functions. And they are often used as a pseudo factory methods. For example a car class
+ (id)carWithEngine:(Engine *)engine;
vs
- (id)initWithEngine:(Engine *)engine;

Hey so I found these two at my grandparents house today. One was my family's from when I was a kid and the other belongs to my grandparents. They still have both original 15" Apple monitors from the early 90's. I was just wondering what I could/should do with these. They're both in perfect working condition

Make sure your tracks are sorted by track number (the left most column) and that you have more than one track selected. Any other sort order, and the join tracks option will be grayed out.

Crucial - they've got sites in a variety of countries and they're highly reliable - sensibly priced too

Keep in mind that Lion is only in developer preview right now. Which means programs that don't work right now could end up working just fine later. Unless you've heard or read something like "Application X will not be supported in Lion" (a good example is Blizzard announcing that some of its older games won't be supported), it might still end up working.

It doesn't display the Macintosh HD partition, but does show the drive as a whole. But I can't do any disk repairs or anything of the sort to it.
You might be able to rescue it with either testdisk or DiskWarrior. I've recovered similar problems in the past.

I think MacWorld had an article about this a few months back... I'll see if I can dig it up. Essentially, you have to write a cronjob that scans for removable media and lists it in the dock folder... there's no way to get the computer to display removable media in the dock otherwise, even by dropping the Volumes folder in the dock.
