On WWDC Eve, we at TUAW are hard at work keeping an eye out for the unknown and unexpected. We just received a tip showing what appears to be the Mac Nano computer that we've all wanted -- and it looks to be aimed towards the developer crowd.
The pictures appear to show a Mac geared towards developers on Windows and Linux systems. "Leave Windows behind. Build your Apps for OS X" states the title. While we are extremely cautious about rumors like these right before WWDC, we did have a rumor that a "new Mac" or at least an updated Mac might be released.

FileSalvage has always worked well for me. It's the kinda thing you want to keep around as you never know when data loss will occur and it's easier to be prepared than try to figure out what to do once it's happened.
Stop using the machine right away as temp files can quickly overwrite the lost files. You will need to boot the machine from another drive with the data recovery software installed to recover the files as you can't recover them to the same drive they were on as it would risk overwriting them or others. You also don't want to download the application to the same drive the files are/were stored for risk of overwriting them.

Not sure about i5, but fast i7 with 4 real cores plus 4 virtual ones can run bigadv. But SMP2 is pretty good, so you need a real fast i7 to get enough bonus to be worth it.

Yes. Carbon Copy Cloner, Disk Utility or Superduper! to clone.

Would you happen to have a couple of the rubber feet for a 15" powerbook?

They used a sample from the song "What Am I Going To Do" by The Dovers. This single makes me extremely excited for his new album. I haven't ever really gotten into Deerhunter or Atlas Sound, but this single just might be good enough for me to try out both artists again.

Thanks Applespider, you are absolutely correct. My drive indicates DVD-Rs only. I had no idea there were limitations to the different formats - I assumed that I could use rewritable DVDs, and borrowed a blank from our TV DVD recorder collection.
Better get to the shop . . .
Cheers!
(I had a horrible thought I'd need to replace my Superdrive!)

Download Handbrake and copy them. You don't have to change regions to copy DVDs.

Looks like a rip of 'SmoothOperator' to me.
Well your icon at Tibathon looks like a rip off of Adium's icon ;)
Just kidding. I agree about it being a rip off of SmoothOperator. I find it odd that this even got posted to MacBytes.

MyWi has always been one of my favorite apps to use on the go with my Mac and iPad(WiFi). But today it stopped working on my Mac, despite doing nothing to any settings. It says that the connection has a self assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to internet. This odd thing is that it works on my iPad still.
I really need this issue fixed ASAP so that I can use my Mac at school to do my assignments.
Thanks in advanced. :D
Is that thru USB or Wifi?
Why not try another way of connecting your Mac? You have 3 options, Wifi, Bluetooth and USB.

Thanks for your reply. I got it figured out (and you were right). I didn't realize the 'burn" needed to be done through Disk Utility (I simply right clicked on the file and selected burn the first time). The next problem I faced was a black screen on install. I have a Late 2009 iMac and evidently this was a common problem. A pain, but I found the solution on Apples's support pages.
One last issue. I understand that there should be a bootcamp control panel on the task bar when I am in Windows that would allow me to switch to booting back to my Mac, but it's not there. I am in search of a solution. Any thoughts?

The other problem is that an adapter could put a small delay in the signal, which will be unacceptable for something like NES gaming. There are a bunch of LCDs out there (I have a Dell one) that have a composite input, which works great for this.

I can't even imagine how cumbersome a 17" would be to carry around. I'd definitely do the screen + 12". In fact when the intels come out that's exactly what i'm going to upgrade to. I have a 15" and it's not that bad but gets tiresome after carrying it around for a while. A 12" is a breeze to move around and easy to take notes with.
It's not that cumbersome, actually. Only when your laptop space is too small. Like an aircraft carrier in a pond.

Thanks! I assume this will apply to the current billing cycle?
It depends on the change. Some can be made retroactive or delayed until the next billing cycle begins.

This makes me sad. I used to go to UTSA and I could go to the Apple Store whenever I wanted because I was so damn nearby. How people long is the line now?
